In Italy the cultural and productive differences have always characterized the national creativity and constitute an extremely valuable and unique heritage of intangibles skills and knowledge.
The three main historic districts, territories recognized throughout the world for each extraordinary tradition in the production of textiles, are Biella, Como and Prato.
Typical attitudes of the territory are transformed into products that meet the expectations of the contemporary market that stimulate and develop the production and cultural competencies of local system.
The design process is enhanced by procedural meanings which unfold the close relationship between cultural identity and material identity.
