Fabrics and accessories, silks and textile products that recount the beauty and excellence of Made in Como: this is what the exhibition "Yarn: Thread or Story" will be presenting from 29 July to 3 September 2015 in the suggestive setting of Serre di Villa del Grumello in Como.
Fabrics and accessories, placed at disposal by the Como textile manufacturers, which recount the story of the people who designed, made and wore them. A sort of peek backstage to reveal aspects and anecdotes often unknown to most of us:from the famous people who wore themon special occasions, to leading stylists who transformed them into dream garments, without forgetting a number of interesting aspects tied to technology.
The aim is to produce a real storytelling of Made in Como, emphasizing beauty, identity and uniqueness but also proudly underlining that this is the cradle of the textile product par excellence, in terms of fashion and technology, at the bottom of the success of so many famous world fashion names.
The exhibition will also include an interactive space, where the elements play with the Serre di Villa del Grumello tructures to the point of almost integrating with the pre-existing elements.
During the opening evening, scheduled for 28 July 2015 at 6 pm, a performance will be staged with figures in movement: sinuous dances recalling fabric moved by the wind and yarns that create an unstable space.
The companies of theComo district that have made the event possible, by placing at disposal the textiles on show, are: Canepa SpA, FPR SpA, Girani SpA, Ratti SpA, Seride srl, Taroni SpA,. Luigi Verga SpA.
In charge of the exhibition concept and setup will be the Department of Visual Arts of the Aldo Galli IED Fine Arts Academy of Como coordinated by Monica Sampietro , assisted by Gabriella Mondelli For the creative development and work-with-companies side, coordination has been entrusted to Nigel Joyce of NewAgeDesign .
The exhibition "Yarn:Thread or Story" is one of the events promoted by the eighth appointment of comON, a one-of-a-kind project organized by Unindustria Servizi Srl, set up with the support ofUnindustria Como to help spread creative ideas, not only by approaching the best talents belonging to the companies of the Como industrial district, but also by promoting interaction between different entrepreneurial concerns, Universities, Training schools, young students and professionals in a permanent training and contamination workshop.
